About the Role:

As a Technical Operator, you will play a crucial role in optimizing productivity within our factory. You will support the Team Leader during changeovers by setting up machinery, instructing staff, and completing necessary SAP and paperwork processes. You will also cover Team Leaders during breaks, holidays, and sickness. When not covering for Team Leaders, you will fulfill Production Operative duties.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring work performed meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Maximizing the effectiveness of Production Operatives and equipment based on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Assessing and demonstrating a certain level of dexterity when needed.

Salary Breakdown:

Base Rate: £12.39 per hour
Day Shift Allowance (12 hours): £0.71, totaling £13.10 per hour
Night Shift Allowance (12 hours): £2.56, totaling £14.95 per hour
Overtime (Tx½ over 48 hours): £18.59 per hour

Note: Shift allowance only applies to base hours.

Daily Responsibilities:

Manage documentation related to the production system and Quality Department.
Assist the Team Leader by instructing and monitoring production personnel, especially during cleaning and changeovers.
Control material consumption, monitor waste, and ensure traceability, including scanning and paperwork completion (SAP/WMS).
Optimise machinery effectiveness through standard settings and assist during breakdowns.
Participate in machine trials, continuous improvement initiatives, and development work.

Required Skills:

A genuine interest in machinery and equipment operation, with a proven record of equipment setup.
Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
Understanding of food safety principles and practices.
Basic knowledge of food production principles and practices.
Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
Creative problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to production needs.
Methodical work ethic and ability to operate independently.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong people skills.
